Bay House Community Centre

The design and making of a community centre in a classroom at Bay House School, Portsmouth

We worked with Bay House School and Sixth Form on their cross-curricula project 'One Life'. This involved all eleven Year 8 classes designing a community centre and worship space in teams.

We worked in the school for two-weeks running 22 lessons. We focused on introducing the ideas of light, shadow, material and texture through the construction of a 12m x 2m x 2m building in the classroom. As a future resource, we made a website to showcase the students work.
